Japanese Language, Dialectology

I specialize in historical studies of the Japanese language. I have two research topics: the structural changes in meaning and vocabulary and the process of the formation of regional differences in the Japanese language. Though they seem to be two separate themes, they have one thing in common, that is, the study of patterns and rules in the process of change in language. In my classes, students analyze Japanese classics with the aim of obtaining basic analytical skills for historical materials.
