Teaching of Japanese as a Foreign Language

My current research topics are 1) the Japanese language ability needed to live in Japanese society and how to develop it, and 2) an analysis of communication in classes for teaching Japanese as a foreign /second language. The first is related to current social problems in Japan and the second aims at enhancing the expertise of Japanese language teachers. As revealed by these topics, I would like to contribute to enhancing the expertise of Japanese language teachers while relating the teaching of Japanese with social problems in Japan.
