Profile

Shigemi Yoneyama is a professor of strategy and innovation management. After finishing doctoral program at Hitotsubashi University, he experienced lecture, associate professor and professor at Seinan Gakuin University, Musashi University, Hitotsubashi University, Tokyo Metropolitan University, etc. In the meantime, he stayed as a visiting scholar at Haas School of Business, University of California at Berkeley (1994-1995) and INSEAD, France (2004-2005). From 2010, he took charge of the director of research at the National Institute of Science and Technology Policy (NISTEP), a research arm of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), as well as an affiliated professor at National Graduate Institute of Policy Studies (GRIPS). He moved to the current position in 2013.

Other Information

Outside the university, Professor Yoneyama is serving as a visiting fellow at the National Institute of Science and Technology Policy (NISTEP); the project leader of the "Study on Intellectual Property Policies for Investment Promotion" (Economic Research Institute of ASEAN and East Asia: ERIA); a member of the "Forum on Top Management of the Next Generation" (Japan Productivity Center: JPC) and so on. Also, he is taking charge of an editorial board member of the International Journal of Technology Marketing, Asian Research Policy, and the Journal of Science Policy and Research Management, while working as a coordinator/lecturer of corporate executive seminars as well as a business consultant at more than 20 Japanese and foreign companies.
