Courses
- Issues in the World
- Advertising and the Media
- CLIL Seminar: Economy and Society through Film I
- CLIL Seminar: Economy and Society through Film II
CLIL Seminars (Content and Language Integrated Learning) use CLIL, an integrated learning approach that combines content learning (e.g. subjects and themes) with language learning (e.g. English). In CLIL Seminar: Economy and Society in Film I and II, students will learn about film as it relates to the economy and society by focusing on the industrial and artistic aspects of film. We will cover several areas, including the history of film, the impact of television, film promotion and advertising, film festivals, music videos, and others. Students will be encouraged to share what they know about film and its related areas, and to build on their knowledge of film as it relates to the economy and society at large through research, discussion, writing, and of course film viewing.
