[Career Summary]
Akira Takeshi graduated with an undergraduate degree (B.A. in International Relations) from College of Arts and Sciences, University of Tokyo, in 1982. He completed his master's degree (M.S. in Management) at Sloan School of Management, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, U.S.A. in 1990 and completed his doctorate (Ph.D. in Management) at Sloan School of Management, Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1998. After serving at Mitsubishi Research Institute, Inc. (1982-1994), Institute of Innovation Research, Hitotsubashi University as Assistant Professor and Professor (1998-2008), and Graduate School of Economic, Kyoto University as Professor (2008-2020), he joined Gakushuin University with the current position in 2020. Visiting Researcher, the Fondation France-Japon de Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (EHESS), France (2015-2016). Professor Emeritus, Kyoto University.
Lectures and talks at corporations and other institutions, Scientific Research Grant Committee of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS), government committees, etc.
