Scholarships for Privately-funded International Students
In order to reduce the financial burden on overseas students studying at Gakushuin University, the university offers a unique system of "Scholarships and Subsidies for Overseas Students". You might also be recommended for JASSO Scholarships for International Students in Japan or other scholarships for privately-funded students.

Details of each scholarship are posted for the benefit of Gakushuin University students on G-Port or on the bulletin boards.
Scholarships for overseas students
Eligible students: | Privately-funded overseas students enrolled in a full-time degree course who have "College student" visa status and satisfy both of the following criteria: ・Students deemed to have difficulties in paying tuition fees for economic reasons. ・Students with academic performance above a certain level in the previous year (for undergraduate/graduate students in second year or above) * Academic records are not taken into consideration for first-year undergraduate/graduate students. |
Amount: | Not exceeding 300,000 yen annually; the amount may change for each academic year |
Application and selection period: | April (once a year) |

Subsidies granted to overseas students
Eligible students: | Students receiving the Scholarships for Overseas Students who have particularly outstanding academic performance in the previous year (first-year students are not eligible) |

Reductions of tuition fees
Eligible students: | Privately-funded overseas students enrolled in a full-time degree course who have "College student" visa status and are deemed to have difficulties in paying tuition fees for economic reasons. |
