My areas of research are Modern Irish literature: W.B. Yeats, James Joyce, and Samuel Beckett; contemporary Irish poetry: Seamus Heaney, Paul Muldoon, and particularly the work of Thomas Kinsella; poetry in English translation, with a special interest in Italian poetry and in the poetry of Matsuo Bashō; Film Studies, particularly Hitchcock and Kubrick; and Academic Writing: research methods and the preparation and writing of theses.
